The short answer
For Bali the routine is the same as for any trip: two capsules a day from about a week before you fly, every day you are away, kept in the day pack because it needs no fridge.
That is the label, quoted in full below. What the routine is for, in the words we use everywhere on this site, is supporting healthy digestive function while your gut adjusts to new food, different water and a changed routine, and a Bali trip is all three at once: nasi campur for breakfast, a different water supply, a 2am arrival and a week of days that look nothing like home.
What it is not is a promise about Bali belly. Our own FAQ answers that question in one word, quoted below, and the pages that actually change your odds are the food and water habits and the water question, both written from Australian Government sources.
Why Bali is the trip everyone asks about
The ABS counts Indonesia rather than Bali, and Indonesia is the number one country Australians come home from: 188,850 short-term resident returns in July 2026 alone, up from 176,330 in July 2025 and 142,270 in July 2019, ahead of New Zealand in every July in the table. The statistics page has the figures with their source and the next release date.
Bali belly is the everyday name for traveller's diarrhoea and it is the reason most people search for a travel probiotic in the first place, so this page deals with it directly rather than pretending the question is about something else. The short version: the habits matter most, and a daily probiotic is a routine, not a shield.
The routine, in the label's words
This is the wording on the shop page, unchanged:
Before you fly
Two capsules with water, daily, from about 5-7 days out. Tie it to a meal, not a time; the time zone is about to change.
In Bali
The same two capsules at the same meal every day, whatever the clock says. The bottle lives in the day pack, lid sealed, out of the sun.
Coming home
The label says take it daily while you are away. Some people keep the habit going afterwards; that is a personal choice, not an instruction.
Suitable for adults and children over 3 years. Take 2 capsules daily, preferably with water. For travel, start around 5-7 days before you go and keep taking it daily while you're away. No refrigeration needed. Keep the bottle sealed and out of direct heat and sunlight. Always read the label and follow directions for use.
In practice that is three habits, and for Bali specifically the timing is the part to get right. Count back from your flight and start at a meal you never miss, so the habit is automatic before the days stop looking normal. Breakfast works for most people because it is the one meal travel rarely deletes, and in Bali it is also the meal most likely to be something new.
What it is for on a Bali trip
Wander Gut is a high-strength multi-strain probiotic with a prebiotic, and its job, in the words we use everywhere, is daily gut support for new foods, long flights and changing routines. In plainer words: a Bali trip changes your diet, your water, your sleep and your climate all at once, and a daily probiotic taken through that change is there for supporting healthy digestive function while your gut adjusts to new food, different water and a changed routine.
That is a routine, and it is described that way on purpose. It is not a replacement for the food and water habits, and it is not a promise about any illness. The next section is the promise we do not make, in our own FAQ's words.
Bali belly: the honest paragraph
Our FAQ has answered this the same way since the site launched:
Does Wander Gut prevent Bali belly? No. No supplement can guarantee prevention of traveller's diarrhoea or travel-related stomach upset. Wander Gut is designed to support digestive balance as part of a sensible travel routine.
So here is what we say instead. Bali belly comes from what you swallow, and the Australian Government's advice is four lines long: bottled or boiled water including for teeth, no ice you cannot trust, fruit you peel yourself, and no uncooked food. The habits page has the practical version of that list, the water page covers ice and hotels, and if you are unwell on the trip the what-to-do page has the self-care and the signs that mean a clinic.
Every page on this site ends with the same notice, because it is true:
This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. No supplement can guarantee prevention of traveller's diarrhoea or travel-related stomach upset. Wander Gut is not a replacement for safe food and water habits, medical advice, or travel insurance.
What the label tells you, and what to look for
If you are comparing travel probiotics for a Bali trip, the shop page states the things worth reading on any label: 60 billion CFU per serve, five named strains, a prebiotic (Inulin FOS) alongside them, shelf-stable with no refrigeration needed, and suitable for adults and children over 3 years. The Australian travel probiotics page explains what each of those words means on a label and why the strain names matter more than the big number.
Two things we say plainly because people ask: we do not rank our product against others, and we sell direct from this site only, not through pharmacies or supermarkets, so a bottle needs to be ordered before you leave rather than found in Bali.
Who should check with a professional first
From the shop page, unchanged:
Suitable as part of a normal routine for most people. If you're pregnant, nursing, taking medication, immunocompromised, managing a medical condition, or giving it to young children, check with your healthcare professional first.
For families, the line that matters is adults and children over 3, with the check-first advice for young children. For a first trip with a toddler, that check is a two-minute conversation with your pharmacist or GP, and the same appointment where Smartraveller says to sort vaccinations and any regular medicines 6 to 8 weeks out.
Packing it, and ordering in time
No fridge, so the bottle travels in the day pack with the sunscreen and repellent rather than in the hold; the label says keep it sealed and out of direct heat and sunlight, which in Bali means not on the scooter seat in the sun. One bottle is a month of the routine at two capsules a day, so a week at home plus two weeks away fits in one, and a longer trip or a family is two or more.
Shipping is within Australia only, 3-5 business days, free on two bottles or more, so the order goes in at least a week before the routine is meant to start. The packing list tool puts it in the chemist bag with the guide's exact wording, and the routine page has the general version of everything on this page for any destination.

Left out on purpose because we could not verify it from a primary source: any figure for how many Bali visitors get Bali belly, because none exists from a primary source; a Bali-only arrivals total, because the ABS counts Indonesia.
